Following decades of erosion and government neglect, the area that is now known as the Village Of West Hampton Dunes was all but washed away, along with the homes and dreams of its residents. Years passed until the homeowners finally took charge, forcing the government to rebuild the beach and restore the island to the splendor that it is today. “Incredible Journey, The Story Of West Hampton Dunes” documents how a community called to action can have a positive impact on our environment and pays tribute to the tenacious men and women who saved their beach community.
